The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Copywriter to join our brand and creative team in GoGuardian’s marketing organization. In this role, you will collaborate with other members across the company to understand objectives, needs, and constraints while creating creative and thoughtful content solutions in support of business KPIs. You will be involved in shaping written content for multiple brands in GoGuardian’s collection of learning tools, always with an eye for customer-centric communication that meets project objectives. You will collaborate with team leadership to assess the performance of content efforts and optimize to meet goals.
 
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of brand-driven content strategy, excellent writing skills, and a deep understanding of how to communicate in ways that meet the unique needs of educators.

Candidates should also be able to initiate and lead work from a brief with clear business and communication goals, involving the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment. You should excel at working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with a positive, action-oriented approach to team collaboration. Content strategy and copywriting experience in a marketing setting is required for this role.

What You'll Do

    • Plan and execute content and editorial initiatives in partnership with teams across the company, aligning with the rhythms of a K-12 school year and how that relates to business objectives and priorities.
    • Shape messaging through an empathetic lens that motivates our audiences to action and makes them feel seen, heard, and supported.
    • Manage external contributors for owned and sponsored content opportunities. 
    • Review written work and provide feedback to copywriters to ensure content is technically sound and in alignment with brand voice and tone, communication goals, audience interests, and communicates a strong CTA.
    • Review content performance and offer suggestions for improvement to meet project and business goals.
    • Recommends improvement opportunities to policies and established procedures that positively impact the organization.

Who You Are

    • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 5+ years professional experience in marketing, at least 2-3 of those years focused specifically on copywriting or content strategy.
    • An exceptional writer and communicator, with a thorough understanding of brand voice and tone.
    • Have a thoughtful, empathetic, and inclusive approach to communication and content development.
    • Highly organized with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Have the confidence to work closely with and advise other members of the organization as it relates to content strategy and copywriting.
    • Have a solid understanding of educational terms & principles used by the team. 
    • Have a desire to be a part of an inclusive, purpose-driven brand or organization, and demonstrate a willingness to learn in areas of cultural inclusion and justice.
    • Demonstrate self-awareness and is receptive to feedback from others.
    • Have experience working with contributors and writers to shape contributed work and edit submissions.
    • Have experience collaborating with marketing strategists to assess content performance and optimizing to meet project and business goals.
    • Strongly wishes to help teachers and students, and aligns type & quality of work to this goal.
    • Have a high level of urgency and adaptability when priorities shift.
    • Recommend improvement opportunities to policies and established procedures that positively impact the organization.
    • Are able to work with minimal direction and have a proven ability to guide others when needed.
    • Can not only receive feedback well, but provide constructive criticism to other writers and content producers.
