Away is a global lifestyle brand with a mission to transform travel through products and content that inspire people to get away more. In support of our mission, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Email Lifecycle Marketing to join our Retention Marketing team.

The ideal candidate is excited to contribute to the growth, development, and successful execution of our global email and lifecycle marketing campaigns, with the ultimate goal of improving customer engagement and retention. You will report to the Director of Retention Marketing and work remotely, with very little expectation of in-office presence in our SoHo HQ.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the growth and development of our global email marketing and lifecycle programs, continuing to drive strong customer engagement and retention across all parts of the customer lifecycle
  • Set the strategic roadmap for our email and SMS channels, balancing long-term initiatives with near-term needs and aligning the team’s priorities to the highest impact work
  • Develop a testing and experimentation roadmap to continually optimize all areas of the lifecycle program, identifying opportunities to better understand our customer segments and ultimately increase engagement, revenue, and efficiency
  • Expand our personalization strategies to better meet the needs of our global customer base in a scalable way, leveraging tactics such as dynamic content and product recommendations
  • Continue to optimize our segmentation and targeting strategies across all email and SMS touchpoints to improve customer engagement and retention
  • Build scalable processes and drive innovation across the email & lifecycle ecosystem, from internal platforms and tools to cross-functional communications and workflows
  • Develop revenue and traffic forecasts for all lifecycle channels, setting channel KPI goals and managing the budget for email, SMS, and all associated platforms
  • Continue to mentor, motivate, and support the Lifecycle team in their learning and development, helping them identify solutions to challenges that they face and supporting them in their growth areas

Who you are:

  • You have 5 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years of experience in an email marketing role
  • You’re both creative and analytical, and are fascinated by the intersection of creativity and performance
  • You have experience with an ESP such as SendGrid, Klaviyo, Iterable, or Braze
  • You have a solid understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive email design
  • You have an eye for detail, ensuring accuracy of all copy, links, and template designs in various inbox environments
  • You love data and have experience with analytics tools such as Looker, Tableau, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Excel
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You’re highly organized and take a process-oriented approach to all you do
  • You understand the requirements for CAN-SPAM compliance, as well as the nuances of email compliance in various international regulatory environments (e.g. GDPR, CASL)
  • You’re a team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • You’re passionate about transforming travel (but that’s a given!)
  • You can show proof of COVID-19 vaccination & adherence to HQ COVID office policies using a secure platform that verifies vaccination status without sharing private health information, within 30 days of hire
